An eye examination is about more than just updating your prescription. With the latest technology our Optometrists can assess the health of your eyes and identify any potential health conditions.
NHS Exemptions
You are entitled to an eye examination under the NHS if you fit one of these criteria:
- Children and students under the age of 19
- 60 and over
- Diabetic
- Glaucoma sufferers and their immediate relatives over 40 years old
- In receipt of Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Working Family Tax Credit and Employment & Support Allowance
- Exemption certificate (HC2)
- Complex lenses requirement

A basic eye examination is covered by the NHS for those who meet the criteria above. For a more thorough examination you can top up your eye examination for an additional fee.

MECS – Minor Eye Conditions Service
NHS referral service for eye related problems that are not covered by a routine eye examination such as:
- Red eye
- Dry eye
- Painful, irritated eyes
