Types of Contact Lenses

There are a variety of contact lenses available that are suitable for short-sight, long-sight, astigmatism and presbyopia. Along with a wide selection of prescriptions, contact lenses are available in a selection of daily to monthly lenses.

Daily Lenses

Daily contact lenses are designed to be worn throughout the day and disposed of after use before sleeping. These lenses are often suited to those who want to use them occasionally for events or playing sport.

2 Weekly and Monthly Lenses

These types of reusable lenses are designed to be worn and reused each day for the advised wear period. At the end of the day or when not in use, the lenses are kept in a suitable contact lens solution ready to be reused. This type of lens is recommended for people who want to wear lenses as a replacement to glasses.

MiSight Myopia Lenses

MiSight contact lenses have been available for a few years as a method of myopia control. These lenses are designed with dual focus zones to reduce the progression of myopia whilst correcting your child's vision. These lenses are only available at our Matlock branch.

Aftercare

Keeping up with your contact lens aftercare is important. These appointments not only check your prescription is up to date but also ensure your eyes are healthy, and you have the most suitable lenses for your eyes and needs. The frequency of your aftercare appointments will be advised by your Optometrist.
